Incidentally, I am reading a book titled Making Children Mind without Losing Yours by Kevin Leman. He also wrote an excellent book titled First Time Mommy. Anyway, I just finished a chapter where he talks about how experts have scared people into NOT parenting. His answer is this. STEP UP. When parents don't step up and be parents and do the hard work, their children run wild (and become people who shouldn't breed) and drive the rest of the population nuts.
I believe in raising children to be who they are meant to be and also be responsible, well mannered, self-disciplined members of society. Our job as parents is to raise our children to be adults. Not just manage them until the are 18 and not our responsibility anymore.
And now I will climb down from my soapbox because my little man is awake, and needs some parenting!

Thanks for your kind comments about my first LO. That was a painful challenge, to say the least...
